STAR NAVIGATION TO ESTABLISH U.S. HEADQUARTERS IN ATLANTA

Three Aerospace Companies Announce New Georgia Projects

Monday, November 16, 2009 Contact: Office of Communications 404-651-7774, Alison Tyrer, GDEcD, (404) 962-4078

DUBAI, U.A.E - Governor Sonny Perdue welcomed three economic development announcements made today from the Dubai Airshow that continue to strengthen Georgia's reputation as a global center for the aviation industry.

"Each of these three announcements illustrate a key aspect of our economic development strategy - location of a new U.S. headquarters in Georgia, an existing company expanding its current workforce and an Atlanta-based business selling its products to overseas customers," Governor Perdue said. "

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd., a leading-edge aerospace technology company with a revolutionary new product, will establish its United States headquarters in Atlanta. The company will invest an estimated $1 million in its new location and will create up to 20 jobs over the next 36 months.

Zodiac Services Americas LLC is expanding its College Park location, adding up to 26 jobs by the end of 2010 to its current 120-member Georgia workforce. Zodiac Services Americas LLC is the U.S.-based customer services and support branch of Zodiac Aerospace and provides distribution of parts as well as repair and overhaul (MRO) functions for Zodiac Aerospace commercial aviation, helicopter, business and general aviation customers.

Also, Jetaire Group, an industry leader in complete avionics and electrical systems solutions, has completed its first sale of an innovative product that can keep auxiliary aircraft fuel tanks from igniting. Saudi Arabian major conglomerate Dallah Albaraka is the first company to receive and implement JetaireÕs ground breaking solution that reduces the complexity and cost for transport airplanes that must meet an FAA mandate (SFAR 88) to install such equipment by December 16, 2009.

Star Navigation

Star Navigation, based in Toronto, Canada, has developed the worldÕs first system to monitor in-flight data, analyze that data for potential problems and transmit the results to a ground operator in real time. This in-flight safety monitoring system, called STAR - ISMS™ represents a breakthrough in air safety technology. Airplane "black boxes", as they are popularly known, provide historic, not real-time, data, whereas the STAR - ISMS™ continuously monitors selected avionics systems on the aircraft as it flies, instantly analyzes the data, and transmits that data and any incident alerts via satellite to the operator. It effectively acts as an early warning system, detecting the earliest signs of potential problems while an aircraft is still in flight.

From its Atlanta headquarters, the company will primarily target commercial and defense applications for its product, with a secondary focus on ancillary tracking and communications solutions for rotary wing and light commercial aircraft as well as marine uses.

"Georgia is ideally situated to help us market STAR - ISMS™ to our U.S., Central and South American markets, which are easily accessible through Hartsfield Atlanta Airport," said Viraf Kapadia, chairman & CEO of Star Navigation Systems. "I look forward to building on the great relationships weÕve established with the Georgia business community as our company continues to build its presence here."

The announcement followed a meeting between Mr. Kapadia and Governor Perdue at the Dubai Airshow. Governor Perdue is leading a Georgia delegation to the Dubai Airshow, the largest aviation event in the world's fastest-growing region, to strengthen ties to both potential investors into the state and new customers for Georgia's exporters.

Zodiac Services Americas LLC

The additional employment opportunities at Zodiac Services Americas LLC will take place in a 104,000-square-foot space the company has recently leased for an eight-year period at one of its two College Park facilities, each of which currently employ approximately sixty people. Zodiac Aerospace will work with the Georgia Department of Labor in the hiring process, which has already begun with the addition of six people in October 2009, and will continue through May 2010.

"We looked at other locations, but Georgia was the right choice to expand our client services and grow our business," said Lou Perdoni, CEO Zodiac Services Americas, LLC. "The proximity Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport gives us to support our various client base is unbeatable, and will help increase our access to potential revenue sources."

The Governor announced the expansion after meeting with Zodiac Aerospace Group Director Pierre-Antony Vastra. A delegation from the Georgia Allies, GeorgiaÕs public-private partnership supporting economic development in the state, visited Zodiac Aerospace at its Paris headquarters in October.

Project Manager Carter Wood assisted Zodiac Aerospace with its expansion on behalf of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Jetaire Group

Jetaire has engineered and installed its product for the first time working with The Dallah Albaraka Group to modify a Boeing 727 with Rogerson auxiliary tanks.

Faisal Haddadin, Advisor to the Chairman of Dallah Flight Operations, said: "We were diligent in exploring a number of options for our modification, and the Jetaire solution exceeded the criteria as the most cost-effective and efficient that we have seen. By simultaneously satisfying our requirements and the regulatory mandates, Jetaire saved us both money and down time. Jetaire's ability to deliver value, quality and exceed requirements was a major consideration for Dallah."

The FAA's Airworthiness Directive (AD) requires that all affected auxiliary fuel tanks, including most systems manufactured by ATS, PATS and Rogerson, be upgraded to meet new safety guidelines. Typical solutions address either Phase I, requiring significant reductions in ignition sources; Phase II, which mandates substantial reduction in flammability; or Phase III, which, requires additional lightning protection.

However, Jetaire has developed a more affordable, single-phased approach to the multiphase requirements, received its Supplemental Type Certification (STC), and moved beyond retrofitting into manufacturing. Its auxiliary fuel system is fully compliant with SFAR 88 requirements. The companyÕs solution addresses its customers' need for extended range flights, simultaneous satisfaction of the AD's three phases, cost efficiency in both money and time, the highest standard of protection, retention of passenger space and reduction of installation downtime.

"Jetaire understands the complex requirements of the directive, and our experts have created a seamless solution with no potential failure modes and a certified 14-year service life," said Michael Williams, president of Jetaire and a member of the International Fire Protections Working Group. "Georgia's business climate and resources have supported our companyÕs research and development of this solution, and provide a great marketing platform as well."

In addition to a large number of certifications, Jetaire also holds 20 other Supplemental Type Certifications (STCs) for smoke detection and fire suppression in business and commercial aircraft. Jetaire is the first company to certify for commercial use an explosion suppressant currently used by the military to protect the most advanced tactical fighter aircraft. The company is now developing structural corrections to B737 aircraft that have PATS tanks requiring deactivation according to the FAA's Airworthiness Directive.

The system provides an operator's ground personnel with the ability to monitor trends, predict possible failures, schedule repairs and assists the flight crew in taking preventive action as may be required. It acts as an early warning system, detecting the early signs of potential problems. Importantly, it performs these functions in "real-time" providing essential safety monitoring to the benefit of passengers, aircraft personnel and ground crew. ISMS™ can transmit up to 18000 parameters per minute, the system being limited only by bandwidth availability. Star's current solution, coupled with end of flight reports, assists in fuel management and savings, live flight data analysis (Live-FDA™) proactive management and improved reporting of the initiatives such as FOQA & MOQA (Flight and Maintenance Operations Quality Assurance), that are required by various Civil Aviation Authorities and agencies.

Near Future:

Negotiations regarding the sale of Star's ISMS™ system continue with Pakistan International Airlines, as well as operators in India, Canada, the Middle East and other regions.

Star continues to remain vigilant with respect to any infringement of its patented technology.

BEYOND THE BLACK BOX - LIVE FLIGHT DATA ANALYSIS

TORONTO, Jun 18, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions to assist aviation operators worldwide discusses air safety.

As reported in the Singapore Straits Times on 12 June 2009, Pierre J. Jeanniot reminded Agence France-Presse that technology has evolved and the current flight recorders, the so called "Black Boxes", are obsolete. Mr. Jeanniot, former President and CEO of Air Canada and former Director General and CEO of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), was one of the pioneers of the original flight data recorder, some forty years ago.

Mr. Jeanniot pointed out that in the past there have unfortunately been several cases where even though the flight data recorders have been recovered, the "Black Box" had been so badly damaged that much of the data had been destroyed or very difficult to interpret.

Mr. Jeanniot said that a cost-effective automatic system for real-time data transmission exists. Today, it is possible not only to transmit data when specific malfunction occurs, but the system can also be programmed so that in the event of a serious malfunction, it will transmit all data and cockpit communication non-stop. The substantial reduction in satellite communication costs makes such a system relatively inexpensive to operate.

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) continues to refine its In-Flight Monitoring System ("ISMS™" or "Terrastar: RTM™" Real-time Monitoring) - as a successor to the traditional "Black Box".

Utilizing Star's patented technology, the ISMS™ system has been fully developed, extensively tested in normal commercial aviation settings, and is commercially available. Such a system allows operators to define the frequency of reports, while retaining the override ability to respond immediately to so-called "MAYDAY" situations. The systems' capability of sending immediate alerts in case of a significant divergence from acceptable system parameters allows for proactive action by Operations and Maintenance Centers.

Additionally, the flight performance information captured and transmitted by ISMS™ can provide a dynamic view of the overall behavior of the aircraft at a given time during flight operations.

For location information, the system uses on-board GPS equipment and standard aircraft systems to validate data integrity, and then transmit the information via satellite to the ground on a pre-determined or automatic emergency basis.

U.S. COURT DENIES AEROMECHANICAL SERVICES LTD. MOTION FOR SANCTIONS AGAINST STAR NAVIGATION

TORONTO, May 13, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions, both hardware and software platforms to assist aviation operators worldwide, announces that a motion for sanctions brought by Aeromechanical Services Ltd. (TSX-V: AMA) against Star, was dismissed on May 12, 2009 by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California (the "Court"). Aeromechanical Services Ltd. ("AMS") sought an award of attorney's fees, arguing that Star had filed and prosecuted an action against them in bad faith. Star had previously dismissed a complaint against AMS for infringement of Star's U.S. Pat. No. 7,113,852 (See Press Releases March 17, and April 7, 2009). The Court held that Star's voluntary dismissal of the action against AMS did not warrant a conclusion that Star prosecuted the action in bad faith. The Court therefore denied AMS's motion. Star will continue to monitor the situation with AMS and will consider further action if the circumstances warrant it.

Star and SAMRI jointly presented a simulation of the TERRASTAR: Real Time Monitoring(TM) system to the engineers from COMAC (Shanghai Aircraft Research Institute Division) and also presented a second simulation to representatives of COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co. Ltd.

Both simulations received favourable response.

Dale F. Sparks, Star's Chief Technology Officer stated: "Our relationship with SAMRI is an important collaboration. The expertise, vision and experience of both companies are synergistic and complimentary and together, we are better positioned for the COMAC919 project. The success of the two simulations was the direct result of significant contributions from both STAR and SAMRI. STAR would like to thank SAMRI for their efforts and support and we look forward to developing an even closer relationship in the future."

The STAR and SAMRI collaboration is one of the first joint foreign/domestic partnerships on the COMAC919 program and this MOU will be used as the basis for supplying Star's In-Flight Safety Monitoring System technology to the COMAC919, as standard equipment.

Viraf Kapadia, Chairman & CEO of Star said, "We look forward to supplying and integrating Star's licensed, patented technology in collaboration and cooperation with SAMRI and its associated companies. This agreement is in keeping with our philosophy of building firm foundations to make long-term relationships stronger. Star continues in its commitment to ensure that its technology is universally recognized and protected."

STAR and SAMRI have also agreed to assemble a joint technical team to enhance the technical management of their cooperation and standardize the technical policies and procedures, in support of COMAC programs.

STAR NAVIGATION ANNOUNCES CONTINUATION OF PATENT INFRINGEMENT LITIGATION BY AEROMECHANICAL SERVICES LTD. ("AMS")

TORONTO, Apr 7, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions, both hardware and software platforms to assist aviation operators worldwide, announces that Aeromechanical Services Ltd. (TSX-V: AMS) has filed a Motion for Sanctions (the "Motion") against Star in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, claiming $750,000 USD. Star had previously dismissed a complaint against AMS for infringement of Star's U.S. Pat. No. 7,113,852. (See Press Release March 17, 2009). In the Motion, AMS claims that Star's actions in prosecuting its claim were unreasonable.

Star believes the AMS Motion to be without merit and will vigorously defend the action. As well, Star continues to assert its right to refile the patent infringement complaint at such time as AMS's sales improve, and AMS is on notice of Star's continued allegation of AMS's continued infringement of its patent.

STAR NAVIGATION DISMISSES CURRENT PATENT LITIGATION BASED ON DEFENDENT'S MEAGER SALES

TORONTO, Mar 17, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group, Ltd (TSX-V: SNA), ("Star"), today filed a Notice of Dismissal of its lawsuit against Aeromechanical Services Ltd. (TSX-V: AMA), without prejudice, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Under the notice, Star continues to have the option of refiling the complaint against AMS for patent infringement of its U.S. Pat. No. 7,113,852 ("the '852 Patent) at a later date, for example, if AMS's sales improve in the future.

The decision to dismiss without prejudice was based on AMS's representations during discovery that the cost of the litigation would be significantly greater than any damages Star would receive, based on the limited number of sales AMS has made since its formation. According to AMS itself, any damages that Star could possibly obtain in the litigation are far outweighed by the legal costs already incurred by the parties.

Star will continue to monitor the in-flight data monitoring market to protect its intellectual property rights under the '852 Patent. To the extent that would be competitors offer infringing products, Star will protect its rights under the law.

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. Its real-time capability of tracking performance-trends and predicting incident-occurrence enhances aviation safety and improves fleet management while reducing costs for the operator.

STAR NAVIGATION ANNOUNCES TSX-V NOTICE TO COMPLY

TORONTO, Mar 5, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions, both hardware and software platforms to assist aviation operators worldwide, announces that it has been placed on Notice to Comply by the TSX Venture Exchange Inc. (the "Exchange").

The Exchange conducted a review of Star's disclosure policies and noted some anomalies, errors and omissions. Star has accepted all the recommendations, has taken corrective action and has put in place policies, controls and checks that will make sure no such errors, omissions or mistakes will be repeated. Star appreciates the diligence of the Exchange's Compliance Division in assisting Star to improve its corporate governance.

<< The Exchange has found that Star had contravened several of the Exchange'spolicy requirements including but not limited to:

  • The omission of some material information concerning certain terms and conditions of certain contracts/agreements, shipments and installations, provision of updating disclosure of prior announcements and use of overly promotional words and phrases in certain press releases; Star issued a comprehensive press release updating and clarifying these issues on March 12, 2008.
  • The exercise of 2,294,346 stock options in 2008 in lieu of debt. This resulted from Star's administrative procedures and not from any intent to exchange shares for debt in contravention of Policy. Star has amended its procedure with respect to option exercise in order to fully comply with the intent of the Policy.
  • The issuance of 150,605 shares for debt (such debt being in the amount of $22,306) without Exchange approval. TSX-V approval has now been granted and Star has amended its formal procedure in this regard.
  • A failure to file a submission for a prior Investor Relations agreement and the failure to disclose the termination of the prior agreement.
  • The omission of certain management compensation disclosure as required by the Exchange's Policies. Such disclosure is now being made in the Company's interim and annual filings.
  • An accrual error regarding prior management compensation. This had been amended in the Audited Annual Financial Statements dated June 30, 2008.

In response to the matters raised by the Exchange, Star has instituted the amended internal policies referred to above. In particular, Star has taken the following action:

  • Creation of a Corporate Governance Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Creation of an Internal Disclosure Committee comprised of the CEO, CTO, Corporate Counsel and In-House Counsel.
  • Amendment of policies and procedures relating to press releases. This includes, in part, the adoption of a detailed written disclosure policy and a process requiring the approval of the each of the CEO, CTO and counsel prior to issue of any press release.
  • Amendment of policies and procedures concerning stock option exercises and share issuances. >>

As well, the CEO has agreed to attend an Exchange Workshop dealing with management responsibilities and corporate governance.

In addition, Star is presently engaged in hiring a CFO as the Company's CFO functions are currently be handled by the CEO which is not allowed pursuant to the Exchange's Policies. An announcement regarding the hiring of a CFO should be forthcoming in short order.

The Exchange has advised that it will not be taking further action at this time regarding the contraventions of Exchange requirements. However, any further violations of Exchange requirements may result in a review being commenced and applicable further action being initiated by the Exchange against Star and its management, officers and directors.

Star sincerely regrets the contraventions of the Exchange's policies and requirements and will use its best efforts to ensure that they will not occur in the future.

STAR NAVIGATION ANNOUNCES MAJOR AGREEMENT WITH SAMRI, A SUBSIDIARY OF CHINA AVIATION CORPORATION (AVIC), TO SUPPLY A JOINTLY BRANDED VERSION OF STAR'S TERRASTAR:REAL-TIME MONITORING(TM) TO THE BIG COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT PROJECT

TORONTO, Nov. 12, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star or the Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions to aviation operators worldwide, is pleased to announce that a detailed Collaborative Framework Agreement ("CFA") has been signed with the Shanghai Aero Measurement-controlling Research Institute ("SAMRI"), a subsidiary of AVIC - China Aviation Industry Corporation. (Please see press releases October 29 and November 10, 2008).

The CFA outlines the working relationship between SAMRI and Star with the objective of supplying a jointly branded version of Star's TERRASTAR:Real-Time Monitoring(TM) system ("TERRASTAR:RTM(TM)") to Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturers ("OEM") for installation on new and existing commercial passenger aircraft in China as part of the Big Commercial Aircraft ("BCA") project, China's entry into the large commercial aircraft field. As noted in Star's press release dated October 29, China has already begun making large commercial aircraft and has raised the possibility of competition for Boeing and Airbus in the country's booming market for new planes. China is expected to be the world's fastest-growing aviation market, and is expected to need 3,710 aircraft to meet unprecedented demand over the next 20 years. (Source: Boeing/AFP Oct. 29/08) The partners are moving ahead to establish joint teams to address the following:

  • - Requirements specific to the Chinese aviation industry,
  • - Engineering specific to the Chinese-developed aircraft,
  • - Production and delivery of technology and components to satisfy Chinese aviation industry requirements, and,
  • - Installation, training, support and operation of the jointly-branded BCA-TERRASTAR:RTM(TM).

COMAC - "Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd." (previously CACC) has already booked over 208 ARJ21 (100 seat) aircraft orders. Mr. Viraf Kapadia, CEO of Star stated, "The rapid development of our relationship with SAMRI (a subsidiary of AVIC) and COMAC is a good indication that the next generation of commercial aircraft will be a significant market for our products. We are looking forward to building upon this relationship to include other members of the Chinese aviation industry. We always look at both the short-term and the long-term. In the short-term, we are constantly improving and innovating, improving our processes and building our sales force. This agreement is for the long-term; it is a part of building sustainable relationships and this success helps us with our other ongoing efforts in Europe, North America and Asia.

Mr. Dale F. Sparks, CTO of Star, in Calgary presenting at the Air Transport Association of Canada Annual general meeting and enroute to China, commented "Part of the OEM process is to ensure that the technology not only delivers significant immediate value, but also provides a means for future benefit and support, as the demands of the aviation environment change - and our TERRASTAR:RTM(TM) system does exactly that. We look forward to the cross-training of the SAMRI technical personnel and the subsequent integration discussions. This is a strategic partnership opportunity and a very exciting project."

Star's V.P. Marketing & Sales, Mr. Amir Bhatti said at the Zhuhai Air Show, "This agreement is vital in order to enable Star to meet the demands of the relatively untapped commercial aviation industry of China. We are very glad to partner with SAMRI."

STAR NAVIGATION FILES AMENDED PATENT INFRINGEMENT COMPLAINT AGAINST AEROMECHANICAL SERVICES AND PROVIDES USPTO UPDATE

9/22/2008 8:08 AM - Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, Sep. 22, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions to aviation operators worldwide, announces that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") has now completed its reexamination of Aeromechanical Services Ltd.'s (TSX-V: AMA) patent U.S. 7,203,630 and clarified that the only point of innovation for the patented invention is its use of conventionally understood email as a format when transmitting data from an aircraft to a ground station. To the extent that AMA's products do not use email to transmit data from aircraft to ground stations or also use other formats, there is an open question whether AMA's products are actually covered by their own patent. However, Star remains confident that AMA's products are covered by Star's patent rights under the earlier granted U.S. 7,113,852, the infringement of which being unaffected by the reexamination of AMA's patent.

Therefore, Star Navigation has already filed an amended complaint in the ongoing patent infringement case in the Northern District of California to resolve the remaining procedural issues raised by AMA and Star looks forward to the Court's consideration of the past and ongoing infringement of Star's patent rights by AMA on the merits.

INDIA'S DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF CIVIL AVIATION MAKES REQUEST FOR BANDWIDTH ALLOTMENT FOR STAR NAVIGATION'S TERRASTAR: REAL-TIME MONITORING SYSTEM™

9/8/2008 8:40:23 AM - Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, Sep. 8, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company"), a leading edge technology company focused on providing Aerospace Solutions, both hardware and software platforms, to assist aviation operators worldwide, is pleased to announce that India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation ("DGCA") has contacted the Indian Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Department of Telecommunication (WPC-Wing) and has formally requested consideration of applications by airline operators for the allotment of required bandwidth for use with Star's TERRASTAR:Real-Time Monitoring System™.

This request not only demonstrates DGCA support for Star's TERRASTAR:Real-Time Monitoring™ technology, but also underlines the working relationship that Star has with the Indian aviation authorities.

Mr. Dale F. Sparks, Chief Technical Officer of Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. stated, "We see great opportunity in the S.E Asia/Pacific aviation sector, and it is a significant part of our overall strategy. Acquiring the necessary bandwidth for communications is critical to our success in this market and it begins with regulatory approvals from the relevant government departments and ministries. Therefore, we approached this directive very tactfully and ambitiously."

The request for bandwidth is a necessary step in the process of getting Star's technology installed on aircraft in the region.

Mr. Kapadia, Chairman and CEO of Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. stated, "This is in keeping with our recent initiatives in India and South East Asia. We are in the process of opening an office in New Delhi, in order to take advantage of the growth in aviation services in the region. 8/28/2008 4:19:18 PM - Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, Aug. 28, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Star penetrates a new niche with resource companies

(see Press Release May 23, 2008).

"Tethyan Copper", a subsidiary of "Barrick Gold" one of the largest gold mining companies in the world, is impressed with Star's ground personnel, who completed the installation on site under tough living and working conditions. DEFENDENT AEROMECHANICAL RESPONDS TO STAR LAWSUIT WITH MORE PROCEDURAL ARGUMENTS

TORONTO, May 13, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

TSX Venture Exchange Symbol: SNA

Yesterday, the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Star Navigation (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company")) was responded to by Aeromechanical Services' (TSX-V: AMA) in the United States District Court in San Francisco, California by AMA's motion to dismiss on purely procedural grounds. To date, AMS has taken considerable effort to avoid having to answer Star's allegation that AMS infringes the patent at issue.

Thus, the arguments included in AMA's motion were limited to assertions that the California court lacks personal jurisdiction over AMA and arguments attacking the judicial procedures supporting the recent amendment to Star's complaint against AMA adding Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira as co-plaintiffs to the lawsuit. Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira are named co-inventors of U.S. Pat. 7113852, the patent being asserted against AMA and exclusively licensed to Star. Originally, the infringement suit was brought by Star only; however, the inventors, Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira, who had previously authorized the litigation, have now been added as co-plaintiffs.

Following consideration of AMA's motion, discovery and the more substantive aspects of trial may commence. "Our team was fully prepared for this response from AMA," commented Mr. Kapadia, who is Chief Executive Officer of Star as well as an inventor of the patented technology. "We expect to move past the procedural tactics and are looking forward to moving forward with this litigation and prevailing on the merits of our case. We will continue to pursue our legal rights and remedies to the full extent of the law."

STAR NAVIGATION FILES AMENDED COMPLAINT

TORONTO, Apr 28, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

As requested by Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the U.S. District Court in the Order issued April 8th, 2008, Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd ("Star") has amended the Complaint against Aeromechanical Services (TSX: AMA-V) for patent infringement by adding the patent holders Mr. Viraf Kapadia and Mr. Hilary Vieira as named plaintiffs, and received confirmation of the re-filing on April 25th, 2008.

While the Amended Complaint could have been made immediately, Star preferred to give a reasonable amount of time for the patent holders to respond to the request to add them as named parties. Mr. Vieira has been named as an involuntary plaintiff as provided for under U.S. law because of his stated disinterest in actively participating in the law suit.

With this filed amendment, Star has satisfied the conditions of the previous judgement and fully expects the patent infringement lawsuit against Aeromechanical Services to continue without further delay. Star looks forward to the patent infringement litigation proceeding as planned.

STAR NAVIGATION PATENT INFRINGEMENT LAWSUIT AGAINST AEROMECHANICAL SERVICES LTD.

TORONTO, Apr 15, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

Star wishes to clarify its press release of April 10, 2008 entitled "U.S. District Court declines Aeromechanical request to dismiss infringement lawsuit" and the contradictory information presented by Aeromechanical ("AMS") (TSX: AMA-V) in their April 9, 2008 and April 11, 2008 press releases respectively.

For clarity, the U.S. District Court provided that Star's patent infringement lawsuit against AMS may continue as long as Star files an amendment to the lawsuit by April 30, 2008, joining the patent holders Viraf Kapadia and Hilary Vieira, as named parties.

Star is taking the necessary steps in this regard, and Star does not need the consent of Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira in order to proceed in this regard.

Furthermore, contrary to the information released by AMS, Mr. Vieira had previously consented to Star's action against AMS and Star has evidence of such consent.

Star fully expects its patent infringement lawsuit against AMS to continue and is committed to seeing it through to its logical conclusion. While there are complex issues of law at hand in this matter, Star intends to respond to every AMS attempt to delay or prevent a hearing on the merits and will continue to pursue its legal rights and remedies to the full extent of the law.

Star's Chief Executive Officer, Viraf Kapadia says "I hope that all parties will refrain from inflammatory public statements in the future and avoid trying to litigate this matter in the court of public opinion. The investing public deserves better."

U.S. DISTRICT COURT DECLINES AEROMECHANICAL REQUEST TO DISMISS INFRINGEMENT LAWSUIT

TORONTO, Apr 10, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

Yesterday, the United States District Court in San Francisco, California declined Aeromechanical Services' (TSX: AMA-V) request to dismiss the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Star Navigation (Star).

In so ruling, the Judge identified a non-prejudicial technicality in the case and requested the filing of an amended complaint to fully cure a technical jurisdictional defect. Star is in the process of preparing and filing that amended complaint to resolve this procedural issue.

AMS had argued that Star lacked the right to sue AMS and that the court had no jurisdiction over AMS or its infringing activities. After considering AMS's lengthy arguments and Star's response, the Judge requested that the inventors of the patent at issue (U.S. 7,113,852, which is exclusively licensed to Star) be included as plaintiffs in the law suit to help ensure that all of AMS' patent infringement liability be identified in this litigation.

Originally, the infringement suit was brought by Star only; however, the inventors, Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira, who had previously authorized the litigation, will now be added as co-plaintiffs.

The patent infringement lawsuit is expected to continue following this technical correction.

STAR NAVIGATION ANNOUNCES CORPORATE UPDATE AT THE REQUEST OF THE TSX VENTURE EXCHANGE

TORONTO, Mar 12, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX: SNA-V) ("Star" or the "Company") at the request of the TSX Venture Exchange provides a Corporate Update with respect to certain previous announcements.

Spicejet, Air Sahara, A.R. Airways

On January 17, 2006, Star issued a press release stating, among other things, that agreements had been signed in 2005 aggregating $17 million. This figure assumed US dollar denominated sales, converted to C$ at the then prevailing rate of exchange, and included $10,600,000 for 34 Spicejet aircraft, $3,120,000 for 10 A.R. Airways aircraft and $2,900,000 for 15 Air Sahara aircraft. The number of aircraft and values disclosed were based upon projected fleet buildout conditional upon the initial trials being successful.

All three carriers are based in India, and an Aeromobile license is required in order to operate the Star ISMS™ system in Indian airspace. Star's application has been under consideration for over two years and to date, has not yet been granted by the Indian Government. However, the license is the subject of current detailed discussions between Star's representatives and the Indian Government. Star's Chairman, Viraf Kapadia, will attend the next round of meetings in India next month. Installations were initially completed on two Spicejet and one Air Sahara aircraft. However, the Aeromobile license issue prevented system activation and consequently, none of these agreements have been concluded at this time.

Air Sahara has since been taken over by another airline. Due to the licencing delays and new management at Air Sahara, management believes that the terms of the previous agreement with Air Sahara will require renegotiation at such time as the Aeromobile license is granted. Similarly, due to the licencing delays, management believes that the terms of the previous agreements with both Spicejet and A.R. Airways will also require renegotiation if and when the Aeromobile license is granted.
---

T.A.P / Kharkov

On February 27 and 28, 2006, Star announced the signing of Memorandums of Understanding ("MOU") with TAP Maintenance and Engineering in Portugal and Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company in Ukraine. Due to a reallocation of available resources to the Middle East, India and Pakistan by Star, discussions leading to definitive agreements with these firms were suspended.
---

Bexair

Further to the Company's press releases dated November 29, 2005 and April 27, 2006, this purchase did not proceed due to problems encountered with availability of the customers' Challenger 604 Supplemental Type Certificate ("STC") certification and contract issues with Bexair. Star intends to revisit opportunities with Bexair when resource allocations permit.
---

Indian Airforce Glider Project

On January 12, 2006 and April 27, 2006, Star announced that it had been selected to provide technical assistance to the Indian Airforce Round the World Glider Expedition 2006. The Expedition was postponed by the Airforce until 2007. Without notice to Star, the Expedition proceeded with the assistance of other providers. This issue forms a part of current litigation of the Company against its former president, Hilary Vieira (see press release dated September 18, 2007).
---

Air Arabia

Star's announcements dated November 30, 2005 and April 27, 2006, referred to a MOU entered into between Star and an "undisclosed" purchaser, Air Arabia. The Company was unable to satisfactorily conclude those negotiations. Star's new sales team will revisit this customer as resource allocations permit.
---

Medical Monitoring

In reference to Star's press release dated May 15, 2006 announcing a MOU regarding a Medical Monitoring project, we advise that this has been on hold for some time due to a corporate reorganization involving Star's partner in the venture. However, the project has recently been reactivated and design/development work is underway. A formal agreement is being negotiated and further disclosure will be provided when completed.
---

Etihad Airways

Further to Star's press release dated September 22, 2006, Star's technical team continues to work with Etihad to overcome their internal timing and personnel allocation issues. The required Airbus A-340 300 Series STC, together with a full design and installation package, has been provided by Star. Star expects that installation on an Etihad aircraft for trial evaluation should follow in due course.
---

Zain Aviation

Star's press release dated October 25, 2006 disclosed that it had received a purchase order from Zain Aviation with respect to purchase of a Satellite Telephone, Cabin Information System and ancillary services. Prior to delivery and installation, Zain Aviation ceased operations resulting in this purchase order not being fulfilled.
---

Pakistan International Airways ("PIA")

As an update to the Company's press release dated May 23, 2007, the trial evaluation of Star's In-Flight Safety Monitoring System ("ISMS™") on a PIA Airbus A-310 has been underway for some time. The testing and evaluation phase of the trial is now complete and all system expectations were met or exceeded. Final negotiations are underway regarding a formal agreement and PIA's decision is expected shortly. The government of Pakistan has provided approvals for use of Iridium's satellite system over Pakistan. STC approvals for Airbus A-310-300 are complete for Pakistan and Star intends on pursuing STC approvals for additional aircraft types once a formal agreement has been executed with PIA.
---

Electronic Flight Bag ("EFB")

On September 12, 2007, Star announced an expansion of its product line through a MOU with an industry leading EFB supplier. This project has been on hold pending release of Star technical personnel from the PIA trial evaluation. Preliminary integration testing with Star's ISMS™ has already taken place. Star is now prepared to commence detailed work and is in the process of coordinating personnel and timing. Star has agreed that the identity of the EFB supplier will remain confidential for the time being. A definitive agreement will be negotiated after further detailed discussions have taken place.
---

Aerosoft Systems Inc.

On September 19, 2007, Star entered into a MOU with Aerosoft which provided for, among other things, evaluation of the possibility of cooperating for the purpose of developing integrated solutions to various concerns of the aircraft industry. Skylink

The Skylink Aviation Inc. agreement, announced November 13, 2007 is proceeding as planned with a trial installation of one unit. The ISMS Lite™ equipment purchased is in the process of testing and is expected to be shipped to the customer within 10 days. The customer will evaluate the system and if it performs up to expectations, is expected to use it in all of their ongoing and future operations. The agreement provides for both equipment and airtime purchase by the customer and would be the first ISMS Lite™ sale by the Company. The customer currently operates 30 aircraft in Sudan and will be operating 10 aircraft in Afghanistan and as such, they have indicated that up to 40 installations could follow, however, there is no firm commitment by Skylink to make any such further purchase.

As Star determines the exact number of installations following the trial installation, the Company will provide further disclosure of the value of this potential contract. Until such time, the total value is uncertain. At this time, the Company is unaware of any specific approvals required for the trial installation and any such approvals, if required, are the responsibility of the client, who will advise Star of any such requirements on an ongoing basis.

Indus Airways

Further to the Company's press release dated November 14, 2007, the agreement between the Company and Indus Airways is scheduled to proceed immediately upon delivery to Indus of its new aircraft, the MA 60. We are advised that certain pilot and aircraft certification requirements of the Indian government with respect to the Chinese aircraft remain outstanding, as this will be the first time that the MA60 (a Chinese designed and built aircraft) will be operated by an Indian airline. Star's Chairman, Viraf Kapadia, met personally with the General Manager, Marketing of Indus Airways last week, and was assured that the required certification will be forthcoming shortly.

Indus has agreed to purchase fifty (50) ISMS™/satellite phone systems, with one time initial licensing fees per aircraft to be paid as each installation occurs, and monthly payments per aircraft to be payable annually, in advance. Installations and payments will be dependent upon aircraft delivery schedules and the potential value of this contract will be calculated and disclosed once the pilot and aircraft certification is complete and scheduling is determined.

U.S. PATENT OFFICE GRANTS STAR NAVIGATION'S REQUEST FOR REEXAMINATION OF AEROMECHANICAL'S PATENT

TORONTO, Jan. 25, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX: SNA-V) ("Star" or the "Company"), learned today that the U.S. Patent Office has granted Star's request to reconsider the patentability of AeroMechanical Services Ltd.'s (TSX: AMA-V) ("AMA") U.S. patent, U.S. 7,203,630. (See Star Press Release dated September 6, 2007).

The reexamination of AMA's patent was requested and granted by the USPTO based on Star's exclusively licensed U.S. Patent No. 7,113,852 (the "Kapadia Patent"), issued in the name of the inventors, including Viraf Kapadia, Star's Chairman and Co-CEO. Star has also sued AMA for patent infringement related to that patent in a recently filed lawsuit in the Northern District of California.

In ordering the reexamination of AMA's patent, the U.S. Patent Office recognized that the relevant merits and teachings of the Kapadia patent were not considered when the U.S. Patent Office issued AMA's patent. Thus, in ordering a reexamination of AMA's U.S. patent, the U.S. Patent Office confirmed that the Kapadia patent raised a substantial new question of patentability with respect to AMA's patent. Star will continue to protect its intellectual property rights and is gratified that the U.S Patent Office has taken this position.

STAR NAVIGATION ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

TORONTO, Jan. 2, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network)

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX: SNA-V) ("Star" or the "Company") is pleased to announce its strategic partnership with AeroSoft Systems Inc. ("AeroSoft").

AeroSoft (www.aerosoftsys.com) is a privately held Canadian company which has been providing optimized software solutions for management of technical operations to the commercial aviation industry for the past 10 years. AeroSoft flagship products DigiMAINT and WebPMI support technical operations for more than 1500 aircraft at over 30 airlines and MRO's (Maintenance Repair Organization) globally on a 7 x 24 x 365 basis. In conjunction with Star's In-Flight Safety Monitoring System and its existing suite of complementary products, this strategic partnership gives Star a tremendous opportunity to leverage AeroSoft's existing customer base by providing them with a comprehensive solution customized to their individual needs and requirements.

AeroSoft CEO Thanos Kaponeridis stated "This strategic partnership with Star Navigation Systems positions our integrated solutions well ahead of the competition. We are now offering a 'cradle to grave' handling of maintenance data from the time a fault code is registered on the aircraft through its trouble shooting cycle to the interface with the Maintenance Management System, the Flight Operations System, the Digital Document Management System and through the scheduling of the work and updating of the technical records and configuration. This type of solution is unique and only offered in customized implementations by the large airframe OEM's using large ERP systems. The AeroSoft/STAR integration is the only solution including a real-time data acquisition capability, built on competitively priced and proven systems and available to all operators and MRO'S."

Star Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mr. Amir Bhatti said, "This high value venture will give us the technological tools required in order to extend the capabilities of our existing systems and bring them to a platform where all the operations of an operator would be on one page, whether management or finance, engineering and maintenance, flight operations or flight safety. This move will also have significant effect on ETOPS (Extended-Range Twin-Engine Operations) monitoring, including but not limited to MOQA (Maintenance Operations Quality Assurance). AeroSoft will be represented by Star Navigation in February 2008 at the Singapore Air Show, the largest Air Show in Asia.
